One of Grunge's many forgotten bands, Candlebox was unfairly maligned right from the start. Each year after 1991 had its 'Grunge-poser' band. 1992's Grunge whipping boys were STP, 1993 had Candlebox and in 1994 it was Bush. Hey, it happens. All three bands definitely took heavily from their forefathers, but each of the three were extremely adept at tweaking the prevalent sound of the period in their own ways to make a pretty compelling brand of Grunge. Candlebox took a bluesy track and, thanks in large part to the rather impressive pipes of Kevin Martin, should certainly be remembered as one of the more successful 2nd wave Grunge acts.
